Covenant Health Commitment to Privacy of Protected Health Information

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, also known as HIPAA, provides federal regulations for the privacy and security of patients’ health information. HIPAA legislation includes two major provisions that govern the safeguarding of patient information: The HIPAA Privacy regulations which were effective on April 14, 2003 and the HIPAA Security regulations which were effective April 21, 2005. Covenant Health is committed to protecting the confidentiality of your health information and meeting the standards set forth in these regulations. All Covenant facilities are required by law to provide you with a Notice of Privacy Practices with respect to your personal health information. This Notice describes how medical information about you will be protected, how it may be used and disclosed, and how you can get access to this information. A notice of privacy practices is posted on the website of all Covenant Hospitals and nursing homes, where applicable. Please contact the Privacy officer of your nearest Covenant facility if you have any questions.

Health Plan Transparency

This link leads to the machine-readable files that are made available in response to the federal Transparency in Coverage Rule and includes negotiated service rates and out-of-network allowed amounts between health plans and healthcare providers. The machine-readable files are formatted to allow researchers, regulators, and application developers to more easily access and analyze data. It is not intended to be a cost comparison tool for employees and dependents in Covenant’s medical plans.
