Effective March 1, 2025, St. Joseph Hospital (Nashua, NH), St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center (Lewiston, ME), St. Joseph Hospital (Bangor, ME), and affiliated clinics and providers will no longer be considered in-network by Humana Medicare Advantage.

What Does This Mean For You?

This means that after March 1, 2025, patients who are Humana Medicare Advantage members will pay higher, out-of-pocket expenses when they receive care at our hospital or practices. Fortunately, patients in need of emergency care will still be able to access our emergency department without paying more because emergency care is always considered in-network. If you have questions about your coverage after March 1, 2025, contact Humana using the number on the back of your insurance card.

What Can You Do Now?

Changing doctors can be difficult and confusing. If you would like to keep your medical team, you should consider:

• Selecting a different Medicare Advantage plan. Open enrollment for Medicare Advantage is from January 1, 2025- March 31, 2025, which means you can easily enroll now. See below for a list of plans available in your network.
• Enroll in original Medicare and join a stand-alone Medicare drug plan.
