Covenant Health Names New Board Leadership and Appoints Three New Members

At their July 2025 meeting, Covenant Health’s Board of Directors welcomed new leadership and three new board members, each beginning a three-year term. We also shared our gratitude with Lesley Adkison, Bruce Bonnell, Thomas Mortimer and Louise Trottier for their dedicated service as they concluded their terms. Longtime Board Chair John Oliverio will continue to serve as Board Chair Emeritus.

Mark Anthoine, Sr., Board Chair
Anthoine is the President & Managing Partner of BGA Financial with offices in Lewiston and Portland, Maine. BGA provides insurance and investment planning, employer-sponsored retirement plans and employee benefits advisory services to clients throughout New England. Anthoine began his career in the financial services and employee benefits industry in 1984 following his graduation from Bowdoin College. He serves as board chair of St. Mary’s Health System, which includes St. Mary’s Health Regional Medical Center and St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion.

Ralph Jenkins, Board Vice Chair
Jenkins is a retired Assurance Partner from Ernst & Young, a global professional services organization. He was the former Managing Partner of the Manchester, N.H. office, before transferring to the Boston, Mass. office. His responsibilities included working with a diverse client base of both public and private companies. He is currently the finance chair of St. Joseph’s Hospital, Nashua, New Hampshire, a Covenant hospital, serving the organization since 2016; Director and Treasurer of the Heron Cove Association; and serves on the finance committee of Catholic Charities of New Hampshire.

Kathryn Connerton, Treasurer
Connerton is a talented healthcare executive with demonstrated success driving innovation and transformation across community-based, multi-state integrated operations specializing in clinical and financial outcomes, service line development and care coordination. Since 2014, she has served as president and CEO of Ascension Lourdes, an extensive healthcare system comprised of 2,250 doctors, nurses and associates based in Binghamton, New York. Connerton also serves as the chairperson of the Care Compass Network, a not-for-profit community network comprising 180 partner organizations whose mission is to improve the health and life of Medicaid members in the southern tier of New York.

Aisha Barlatier-Bonny, MSW, LCSW, Vice President of Behavioral Health and Outpatient Services at The Home for Little Wanderers in Brockton, Mass. returns to the board after previously serving. She brings over 26 years of experience to her work in the field. Throughout her career, Bonny has honed her skills in strategic planning, training, coaching, contract management, budget planning, quality assurance and risk mitigation. As an inclusive leader with a deep understanding of diverse funding sources, she has a proven record of thriving in productivity-focused environments and is known for her ability to inspire teams and implement effective program strategies. 

Jeff Halverson joins the Covenant board after retiring from his role as Vice President of MercyOne Medical Group in Waterloo, Iowa after 40+ years of dedicated service. As a member of MercyOne’s senior leadership team, he led and grew a multispecialty practice of employed physicians to a group of 120 physicians and 60 plus mid-level providers across 15 specialties. Halverson’s experience included administrative oversight for physician governance, contracting, compensation, recruitment, strategic planning and budgeting. Nearly all his efforts have focused on advancing Catholic Healthcare. Halverson completed the Catholic Health Association Sponsor Formation Program in 2023.

Herman Williams, MD, is the President of HW Healthcare Solutions, a multifaceted healthcare consulting firm focused on solutions for medical staffs, physician practices and hospitals. He joins the board with a long history as a senior executive with extensive healthcare experience that includes the management and operations of large-scale national clinics and hospitals. As President, he helped develop and redesign medical staff consulting services to include medical staff credentialing, bylaws redesign and accreditation guidelines for a national client base. He has also held senior consultant roles at Nashville Healthcare Consulting practice at BDO, USA.
